Leora Bernice May, 86, of Oswego, passed away on January 4, 2006 at her home. She was born September 5, 1919, the daughter of Harm G. and Edna Harms.
Leora was employed at Seal Master, Inc. on Builter Rd. in Aurora for over 28 years before retiring. She loved cooking, baking, quilting and sewing. She enjoyed taking care of the family home but her greatest passion was caring for her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Lyle May, who she married on February 6, 1965 in Aurora; Lyle and Leora's children, Pamela J. (Joseph) Fidis, Herbert L. Hattner, Lyle D. (Lois) May, Larry P. May and Roger B. (Claudette) May; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Katherine) Harms; two sisters, Myra (George) Lane and Nita (Carl) Hacker; several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; six brothers and two sisters; a great-grandson preceded her in death.
The family will be receiving guests from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at the Rutland Cemetery in Rutland, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for Alzheimer's Disease Association, 4709 Golf Rd., Suite 1015, Skokie, IL 60076.
