Mr. Oleskey was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Nanty Glo, Pa., a son of Pius Sylvester and Ruth Brickley Oleskey. His parents relocated to Sharon in 1930.
He attended Sharon schools and St. Jerome's Seminary College, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Oleskey served with the Army in the Panama Canal Zone where he was part of the Caribbean Defense Command. While in the armed forces, he studied and graduated from the Canal Zone Junior College, Balboa, Panama.
He was employed for 36 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, where he was a journeyman and machinist, retiring in August 1986.
Pius enjoyed his retirement and working part time in years past at Yankee Lake. He was a member of the Italian Home, Farrell.
As a devout Catholic, he was a longtime active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell.
He married the former Barbara Jazwinski on Sept. 9, 1950.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Joshua Pius Hamder; a granddaughter, Mary Lynn Jurko; and an infant grandson, Michael Caid Oleskey.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage.
