John Madison Amos, age 80, died Wednesday, 31 Jul 1991 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Dayton, Indiana to the late Mode and Alice Swisher Amos. Mr. Amos was an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Entomology Department at Virginia Tech. He was an active member and Deacon in the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Edna K. Amos; two sons, Charles E. Amos, Greenfield, Indiana and Bruce M. Amos, Korea; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Jones, Lafayette, Indiana and Mrs. Dorothy Heiland, Delphi, Indiana; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, 3 Aug , at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. D. Cameron Murchison, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Chapel Presbyterian Church 505 South, 3rd Street, Lafayette, Indiana, 47905. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home.
