She attended Ball State University and was an avid volunteer for the American Field Service for foreign exchange students, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Kings Point Bridge Club, and Friendship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nyla Roeder, Nancy Cook and Susie Stout.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bill, four daughters, Kathie (Russell) Nalepa, Edie (Kevin) Housel, Glenda Bizzotto and Nola Mayfield, a son, Sidney Mayfield, a brother, Robert (Marg) Brown and seven grandchildren.
