David M. Abbott Sr. 70, died Saturday, February 23. 2013, at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord.

Born in Concord, he was the son of Frank A. Abbott Sr. and Winifred V. (Boyd) Abbott.

He was a volunteer for the Loudon Fire Department. He was an avid Nascar fan and greatly admired Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed landscaping, camping and his birds, dogs and cat.

David was especially fond of his Aunt Edith Boyd.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Dorothy "Dottie" (Strong) Abbott of Concord; his son Michael D. Abbott of Pembroke, son William R. Abbott of Penacook and step son Shawn A. Abbott of Loudon; daughters, Rene Ann Richardson of Webster, Tammy Lynn Lantas of Lyman, step daughter Wendy Lynn Abbott of Concord and step daughter Tonya Marie Abbott of Concord; his brothers Arthur R. Abbott of Concord and Edward T. Abbott of Concord; his sisters Delia Austin of Chichester and Joanne Hamel of Weare; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, David M. Abbott Jr. and Brian K. Abbott; by three brothers.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 27, from 5 to 7p.m., at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Evans Cemetery in Bow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fisherville Animal Hospital, 108 Fisherville Rd., Concord, NH 03303.
