Died 1 Nov 1854: Maria Barbara Ackermann, widow of late John Peter Ackermann, born on 17 Jan 1784, in Frankenhausen, Hesse-Darmstadt. Emigrated in 1836. After the death of her husband, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ripper, where she received good care. Sick for nearly 2 years with dropsy and asthma, age 70 years, 9 months, 25 days. Leaves 2 sons, 1 daughter and 12 living grandchildren. [In 1854 sons Peter, Johann Peter and daughter Anna Barbara were alive, and son George and daughter Justina were dead.]

The parents of Maria Barbara were known as Heinrich Balthasar Knell (1760–1824) & Eva Maria Dillmann/Thielman (1762–____). Maria Barbara was christened 19 Jan 1784 in Ober-Ramstadt, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hessen. She was married on 10 Dec 1812 in Frankenhausen, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hessen, to Johann Peter Ackerman(n) .
