Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday April 26,
2014 in the First United Methodist Church for Mr. Robert P.
Carter 89, of Columbia who died Thursday, April 24,in Colubia
Interment will in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Wood
and the Rev. Keith Gaugh will officiate at the services.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday,
April 25 at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Franklinton, La,he was a civil engineer and commercial contractor, a member of First United Methodist
Church and served in the U.S.Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Osceola and Clothide Carter, wife Elsie Wood
Carter, son John Shepard and sister Victory Green.
Survivors include daughters, Virginia Carlton [Scott]of Columbia, currently residing in Jackson and Chloe Knight[Bob]
of Covington,La son Robert C.'Bobby' Carter [Dawn] of Columbia; brother Haley Carter of Franklinton ,La; seven grandchildren and many other friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to
the First United Methodist Church of Columbia .
Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
