Mr. Billy Woodard, 91, of Rowlett, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Rowlett. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 14, 2014 in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Dr. Calvin Turnage will be officiating. No visitation is planned.
Mr. Woodard was born in Charleston on June 22, 1922, the son of Robert L. Woodard and Dewey George Woodard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 139th MP Company during World War II.
He was married to Gladys Carter Woodard in 1998. He is survived by his wife; Gladys Woodard of Rowlett, a nephew; Don Hill of Waco, a great nephew; Jeremy Woodard of Waxahachie, a sister-in-law; Margaret Woodard of Charleston and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn Lucas Woodard, and three brothers; Newel Woodard, Ben Woodard, and Don Woodard.
