Charles H. Wilkinson, for many years connected with the Union House, and one of Blairsville's most genial and popular citizens, died last Thursday morning, May 4. Some weeks ago Mr. Wilkinson contracted typhoid fever. At times his condition was considered critical; at others a marked improvement was noticeable. On the evening previous to his death he suffered a severe relapse. From this he never rallied, dying several hours later.
"Charlie" as he was familiarly called, was one of the best known men in this part of the country. His hearty, genial greetings to the many guests of his house endeared him to them and made his name and nature not easily forgotten. In his death his wife and the children, his aged father and mother and several brothers and sisters are deprived of an affectionate companion.
…bore his body to its last resting place in Blairsville's pretty cemetery. He was aged 44 years.
