Born in Charlestown, Mr. Smith was [a] photographer before he entered the Army. Because of the injuries he received, he was disabled. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 69, Malden.
Besides his wife, Lucie D. (Fiske) Smith, he leaves three sisters, Mrs. Anna Lawrence and Mrs. Anthony Champi, both of Malden and Mrs. Alice Anderson of Framingham Center; a brother, William Smith of Wakefield; two daughters, Mrs. Rupert L. Nichols of West Harwich and Mrs. William Miga of Winchester. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church, Main st., Harwichport, at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Internment will be at the Island [Pond] Cemetery, Harwich.
