Bruce Gibbons Hoyt, 70, died of natural causes Oct. 9 at 9:30 p.m. in his residence in Muhlenberg Township.

He was the husband of Doris I. (Derricott) Hoyt. His first wife, Nanette M. (Harrold) Hoyt, died Jan. 13, 1997.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Dr. Ralph C. and Josephine (Knight) Hoyt.

Hoyt was employed as a truck driver by Burkey Construction Co., Reading, and was last employed as a pattern cutter by Dolphin Sportswear, Shillington.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Hoyt was a 1952 graduate of Shillington High School and a 1953 graduate of Lawrence Academy, Groton, Mass.

He was a volunteer at ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, and the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township.

Hoyt is also survived by two sons, Peter H., Sandpoint, Idaho, and Mark J., Birdsboro; and a daughter, Valerie A. (Hoyt) Gemmell, Shillington.

Other survivors include a brother, the Rev. Canon Calvin VanKirk Hoyt, Camp Hill, Cumberland County.

There are also four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Wilshire. Inurnment will be in the church's columbarium. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Shillington, is in charge of arrangements.
