The Western Citizen, Paris, Kentucky, Friday, January 7, 1848 (sub 'Deaths'):
On the morning of the 2nd inst., Henry Timberlake, Esq., one of the oldest citizens of this place, aged 71 years. He was the youngest son of Richard and Mary Timberlake and was born in Hanover County, Va. on the 13th of September 1777. His parents moved to Kentucky about 1786 and settled on Paddy's Run, now in a part of Harrison, but then Bourbon County. Mr. Timberlake came to Paris in 1782 and has continued as a citizen of the place, except for a short interval, until his death, about 53 years. He twice held the commission of Justice of the Peace for the county and served in that position for more than 16 years. He twice represented the county in the State Legislature in 1815 and 1825. When the Northern Bank established a branch in this place in 1836, he was appointed Clerk of the Branch and labored assiduously in discharge of his duties until the 22nd of October last when he was attacked with a disease which baffled the skill of his physicians and which terminated his life.
