Edward D. Blecha, son of Joseph and Louise Blecha was born at Humboldt, Richardson county, Neb., on May 23, 1890, and passed away at his home in Belleville, Kan., July 5, 1959, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 12 days.

In the year, 1907 with his parents and a large family of brother and sisters he came to Kansas. The family established their home on a farm one mile west and one-half north of Munden. Edward finished his high school education, attending in the Munden schools.

On April 12, 1916, he was united in marriage to Mary Klima, of the Cuba community. This union was blest with the birth of two children, one son and one daughter. After their marriage the young couple took up residence on a farm two miles west of Munden, where they lived until 1930. In the spring of 1930 he bought and moved to a farm four miles south of Belleville, where he made his home for 16 years. In 1946 he purchased his home in Belleville where he lived the rest of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his father, having died in April 1919, and his mother in April 1926; a twin brother, George who died in infancy, Joseph who died in 1920, Frank in 1928 and Charles in 1939.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Mary; his son, Ernest, and daughter-in-law, Betty of Belleville; his daughter, Mildred and son-in-law, John Widmayer, of Essexville, Mich, and seven grandchildren; also three brothers, Will and Adolph of Belleville and August of Chester, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Brzon of Republic and Mrs. Maggie Rundus of Belleville as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Amos Rundus at the Tibbetts Bros. chapel. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery, Belleville.
