Kentucky New Era, Monday-Tuesday, March 17-18, 2014

Jewell Pollard, 97, Morningside of Hopkinsville, died at 1:16 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home with the Revs. David Tucker and Earl Grace officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Hopkinsville, he was born May 24, 1916, the son of the late Urey and Jessie Pollard,

He was retired from Barnes Motor Co. and Jewell Long Realtors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and a former member of the Lions Club and Hopkinsville Board of Realtors.

His wife, Martha F. Pollard, died in 2012.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carey (Nancy Pollard) Bonds, West Chester, Ohio, and Mrs. Mike (Donna Pollard) Baker, Clarksville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
