Mavis Lorraine Munter was born to Carl and Alice (Thompson) Munter. She attended the Oakland Country School through primary grades and graduated from Fosston High School in 1946. She then started working at Gambles, where she met her future husband. In 1949 she married Oliver Landsverk at Vernes Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born, Gail, David, Mary and Mark.
They purchased a farm in Sletten Township near Fosston where they resided until 2010. While raising her family and maintaining her home she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting & gardening. She was a charter member of Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston. She was actively involved in the WMF and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Later, she worked for several years at Sears in Fosston and was bookkeeper for Landsverk Farms. After retiring, she and Oliver spent many years traveling and maintaining their yard together.
Mavis passed away at First Care Living Center in Fosston.

Mavis is survived by her children Gail (Glen) Baker, David (Jean) Landsverk, Mary (Keith) Larson, and Mark (Jill) Landsverk. Survivors also include twelve grandchildren; Sara (Barry) Mahan, Alison Baker (Paul Haney), John (Hilary) Baker, Derek (Emily) Landsverk, Kevin (Suzanne) Landsverk, Kelly (Trent) Christensen, Karl Larson, Claire (Anthony) Wehri, Samuel Larson, Christian, Olivia, and Amelia Landsverk. She is also survived by her brother Duane (Sharon) Munter, 5 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Audrey and Caroline Mahan, Thomas Baker, and Audrey Landsverk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Oliver.
