Jack O. FergusonROCK HILL - Mr. Jack Ferguson, 87, of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House on Saturday, March 1, 2014. A memorial service for Mr. Ferguson will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with the Revs. Steve Hogg and Jamie Burdette officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mr. Ferguson was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Rock Hill and was the son of the late Addie Dellinger Ferguson and the late Earle B. Ferguson. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He loved his church and was a member of Young at Heart Sunday School Class. He was retired from the Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company and Springs Industry after 44 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving aboard a destroyer, USS Rhind D.D. 404 in the South Pacific. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Montgomery; and his two brothers, Earle Ferguson and Lyle Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson is survived by his faithful wife of 64 years, Susie Ferguson; his sons, Steve Ferguson and wife, Judy of Acworth, Ga., and Eddie Ferguson and wife, Jeanne of Rock Hill; his sister, Rebecca Tinker of Chester; his five granddaughters, Terrell Callahan and husband, Thomas, Jessica Rollins and husband, Jonathan, Amanda Ferguson and fiance', Matthew Watkins, Stephanie Ferguson and Danielle Ferguson; and his great-grandson, Jack Rollins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, Dave Lyle Blvd. & Hood Center Dr., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
