Son of William DePriest & Tabitha Toney
Served in the Revolutionary War to fight Indians and spy on Torres in SC. Moved from SC to GA and eventually to TN where he had a large family with Anna "Amy" Barnett
He died in Hickman co, Tn, in a part that became Lewis County in 1843. He and Anna/Amy were buried in Cotham Cemetery.
Served in the Revolutionary War from South Carolina. He was a spy among the Indians and Tories. See:

Hugh a Hugh Barnett served in the Rev. War – it appears he was not a brother to Jesse, and spelled the surname with only one "t" (could be coincidence, but he was in NC militia.
