Born January 8, 1916 in Hayti, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Bertha A. George Chism. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
She was a pharmacist assistant for Clevenger Drug Store in Hayti and a member of The First Baptist Church in Hayti.
Mrs. Adkisson leaves one son, James Adkisson, of Clinton, Miss.; Two daughters: Barbara Skinner of Paducah, Ky., and Doris McAnally of Marion, Ill.: One brother, Ernest Dale Chism, of Germantown, Tenn.; One sister, Sadie Metzger of Hayti; Eight grandchildren; and Fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Adkisson were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 9, 1999 at the John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti with Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating.
Burial was at the Woodlawn Cemetery6 in Hayti with John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti.
