Mrs. Gamble passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on July 7, 1933 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Hubert Olna Champion and Mattie Lulean Hutcherson Champion.
She was an active member of Orr Street Baptist Church. She retired from Russell Corporation after 20+ years of service. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning and watching NASCAR. Mrs. Gamble loved her family very much especially her granddaughter Jamie Allen who was the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Anderson (Eldridge) of Alexander City; son, Billy Joe Gamble (Carolyn Price) of Alexander City; granddaughter, Jamie Allen of Mobile; and special friends, Loyette Stallings and Patricia McClellan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Wendy Marie Gamble; and brother, Hubert O. Champion, Jr.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Temple, Dr. Vincent Law, staff at Chapman Healthcare Center and to Mrs. Gamble's three special caregivers, Janice Stockdale, Rachel Bowen and Ruthie Mays for their love, care and support that they extended to Mrs. Gamble.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Orr Street Baptist Church, 939 O Street, Alexander City, AL 35010.
