Mr. Scalzitti graduated from Academy High School in 1950 and had been a commercial artist and cartoonist. He taught cartoon artistry at Mercyhurst College and once ran for Congress in 1974. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Brady Scalzitti; three daughters, Gayle Dieter of Wesleyville and her husband George, Pamela Hampy of Millcreek Township and her husband Joseph and Nancy Hilbert of Erie and her husband John; a son, Gary Scalzitti and his wife Dana; a sister, Nancy Bertges of Erie and her husband Daniel; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
