St. Francis, Minn. – Mrs. Catherine Lange, 91, of here, died at the Mother of
Mercy Nursing Home, Albany, Minn., Friday. She was born in Germany Feb.
25, 1877, and came to the U.S. with her parents when she was four. They
farmed at Freeport, Minn.
She married Ben Lange Sr. Feb. 14, 1899, and they farmed near St. Anthony,
Minn., for four years and then moved here, and farmed until 15 years ago.
Mrs. Lange is survived by eight children, Henry, St. Cloud; Albert and Mrs.
Mary Schmitt, Albany; Leo, Holdingford, Minn.; Joseph, Meinerd, Hubert
and Alphonse, St. Francis; 30 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March [sic]14, 1952, one son
and one daughter.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from St. Francis of Assissi
[sic] Church with Rev. Patrick Thompson officiating.
Friends may call at the Brenny Funeral Home, Holdingford, after 1 p.m.
Sunday.
Rosaries will be prayed at the funeral home Sunday as follows: Christian
Mothers at 8 p.m.: St. Francis of Assisi parish at 8:30 p.m.: and Knights of
Columbus at 9 p.m.
