Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Durand, with Rev. Angie Crummie officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews as follows; Tommy Brown, Johnny Brown, Mike Fowler, Larry Fowler, Chris Fowler, and Ernie Bowen.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9 at Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home in Manchester.
Mrs. Florence was born February 25, 1929, in Atlanta, Ga., the daughter of Oswald S. Fowler and Bertha Florence Fowler. She was raised in the Durand community of Meriwether County, Ga., and attended school there in her youth. She was a graduate of Manchester High School in Manchester, Ga., and for a number of years worked in an Atlanta bank. She retired as a corset maker in the brace shop of the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation after twenty-one years service and was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the church Guild and not only regularly attended church but also recognized the importance of making sure her children attended as well. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Walker Florence, Sr.; and her brothers and sisters, Virginia Brown, Jay Fowler, Mildred Fowler, Barbara Fowler, Tommy Fowler and Benny Fowler.
Survivors include her two daughters, Anne Rezaeinia and her husband Fred Rezaeinia of Alpharetta, Ga., and Brenda Florence of Durand, Ga.; a son, Ellis "Bubba" Florence, Jr. of Durand, Ga.; two grandchildren, Sabrina Rezaeinia Hill and her husband George Kelly Hill of Cumming, Ga., and Benjamin Rezaeinia of Atlanta, Ga.; also several nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and those who desire may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or Trinity United Methodist Church.
