Conrad W. Sterner
NORRISVILLE - Conrad W. "Coonie" Sterner, 92, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He was the husband of the late Esther (Brooks) Sterner.
Viewing will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown. The service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary, with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade.
Born August 27, 1919, in Spring Grove, he was the son of the late Jesse Myers and Maggie Thoman (Werner) Sterner.
Coonie was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a former Trustee. He was also a member of the Maryland Beagle Club. He retired from Asplundh Service Co. in 1985. Previously Coonie was involved with custom seed cleaning, working with other farmers in the area. He was also a dairy tennant farmer. Coonie enjoyed hunting, camping, horses and listening to country music.
Surviving are three daughters, Deanna B. Stielper and her husband, Leonard of Bel Air, Md., Patricia S. Hendrix and husband, Guy of Norrisville, Md., and Carolyn S. Grove and her husband, Ralph of Damascus, Va.; son-in-law, Larry Rosenberry of Fort Loudon; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela S. Rosenberry; three sisters and four brothers.
