Olive Lida Scifert Jewett, 85, of West Lafayette, died Nov. 19, 1981, in Lafayette Home Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1896, in Wolcott, she lived in White County until moving to rural West Lafayette in 1936. She was married at Monticello, in 1915, to Robert S. Jewett, who died in 1974. Mrs. Jewett taught school in White County for several years.

Surviving are two sons, Hale S. Jewett of West Lafayette and Michael R. Jewett of Goshen; and five daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Joseph) Seale of Merrillville, Ruth (Mrs. Edward) Gochenour of Pendleton, Lois (Mrs. Frederick, Sr.) Reichert, Mary (Mrs. John) Haan, and Nancy (Mrs. James) Jones, all of Lafayette. Service Nov. 23 in Hippensteel Chapel, Rev. Forrest Howell officiating; internment Riverview Cemetery, Monticello.
