Born in Bristol, he was a son of the late Joaquim and Johanna (Alves) Andrade. Mr. Andrade was a foreman for the Kaiser Aluminum Company before retiring.
He also was the Bristol Fire Chief from 1964 till 1967.
He was a past President of the Rhode Island Horseman's Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Patricia Andrade, two sons, Robert Andrade and Stephen Andrade and his wife Anne, one stepdaughter, Denise Gifford and her husband Michael, one stepson, David Testa and his wife Christina, three grandchildren, Luke & Mollie Andrade and Henry Chatfield, three stepgrandchildren, Evan & Emma Gifford and Catherine Testa and one sister, Helen Clark. He was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Beacon Hospice, 182 N.Main St. Fall River, MA, would be deeply appreciated.
