CONNETT, Charles Morton
Charles "Mort" Connett passed away on Christmas Day 2007, in Lancaster, Calif. He was born on June 30, 1927, in El Monte, Calif., to C.L. and Florence Connett. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lucille Lo Buono; niece, Joann Vacik all of Lancaster and niece, Jean Gade of Rialto. Mort is survived by his sister, Reba Nash; nephew, Richard and Judy Nash all of Lancaster; niece, Betty and Jim McInturff of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; nephew, Roy Mumaw of Nipoma, Calif., and numerous great nieces and nephews. Mort served for two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Most of his adult life he worked at the Rocket Site at Edwards AFB and also at China Lake in Ridgecrest. In 1990, Mort expressed his faith in Jesus by being baptized in the Jordan River while on a trip to the Holy Land. Mort spent many happy hours skiing at Mammoth Lakes and enjoying his cabin, which he helped build. No services will be held.
