Herman "Doc" Pritchard 89 of Glendale passed on to be with - our Lord at 4:05am on Thursday morning Jan 29 2004. He passed peacefully, in his home, as he wished and with his adoring family by his side.

Born in Wellington Texas on Nov 9th 1914 he moved to Arizona in 1937 where he would reside for 67 years.

Doc is best known to music lovers as the charming vocalist, fiddle player and bandleader of the legendary "Arizona Ramblers". Doc's magnetism and polished country style influenced a host of musicians from Marty Robins to Buck Owens.

During the filming of a cameo appearance in the film "The Angel and The Bad Man" Doc formed a fast friendship with its star John Wayne, the two could be seen soaking up the warm Arizona sun napping side by side using their cowboy boots as pillows.

His beloved Norma preceded Doc in death.

He is survived by: Brother Mitchel Pritchard, Sister Gladys Cartwright (still residing in Texas), his Daughters Juana Brehm, Gayla Smithers, LeQuita Crowe, Son Monte Pritchard, 9 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
