Daughter of Albert Gallatin Foster and Emeline Chaudoin/Chadoin Foster, both were pioneer settlers of Lavaca County Texas. Foster and Chaudoin families have been recognized as TEXAS FIRST FAMILIES. Amelia was the wife of Edwin Piggott 'E.P.' Howland. They had four daughters, Lanie, Daisy, Eveline, and Jessie. Family researchers say that the Howland family is descended from Mayflower Pilgrims.

Amelia's death certificate listed her place of burial as Miller Cemetery, her father-in-law's obituary also listed Miller Cemetery as place of burial. They are both buried here in Pinchback-Obenchain, so apparently there was a cemetery name change.

THANK YOU to GK for the gravestone photo! It was a challenging task to get the photo, and it is appreciated!
