Mrs. Mattie Daniel 39 years of age died at her home six miles southeast of Ocilla, Sunday January 27th about 3:30 o'clock a.m.. after a severe attack of flu developing into pneumonia
She is survived by her husband , six sons and four daughters, The children are, Charlie Daniel of Tifton, Emmett, Leon, Cleo, H. M. , Leona, Lorene, Agnes and one infant 3 months old of Ocilla. She is also survived by her mother Mrs, L. M. Arnold of Fender, five brothers and five sisters. The boys are Mr. Charlie Arnold of Fender, Mr. Thomas Arnold of Chula, Mr. King Arnold of Fender and Mr. Albert Arnold of Fender,. Mrs. Genia Bishop of Tifton, Mrs. Eluenia Paulk of Tifton, Miss Fannie Arnold of Fender, and Mrs. Lula Goff and Mrs. Bessie Fox of Ocilla, besides a host of relatives and loved ones to mourn her death.
The funeral services were held Tuesday January 29th at 11:00 o'clock. The large concourse of people and the beautiful display of floral designs testified to her many friends. Rev. W. H. West conducted her funeral, using as his subject "The Sweet Christian life of Mrs. Daniels". She was a faithful member of the Missionary Baptist Church Bethlehem. Mrs. Daniels was a devoted wife and mother and loved her home, loved her God, and was faithful and loyal to her children.
Heaven will seem near to the loved ones and many friends with her beckoning hands to lead the way. Our sad hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved husband, children and loved ones and our prayers are that God will send his Holy comforts to hover around and about them and comfort them in these dark sad hours.
