"Bernard F. Aumen Sr., 78, Abbottstown R.D.1, died at the York Hospital Monday at 6 a.m. Aumen, born in Hanover, was a son of the late John B. and Catherine Gotwalt Aumen. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Abbottstown, Holy Name Society, Irishtown Fire Co. and Gettysburg American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer and retired printer for the York Gazette and Daily. He was also a retired salesman for the Melvin J. Sheffer Farm Equipment Co. He is survived by his wife Bertha M. Smith Aumen; six sons and five daughters, Bernard F. Jr., Hanover; Rev. Paul A., Valderia, Chile; Sr. Paula Mary R.S.M., St. Peter's School, Columbia; Mrs. Regis W. Gebhart, New Oxford; Philip A., Abbottstown R.D.1; Mrs. Theresa E. Delrosso, Lockwood, Ohio; M. Sgt. Thomas E., Marine City, Mich.; Mrs. John J. Kuhn, Abbottstown R.D.1; Lawrence E., New Oxford R.D.1; Mrs. William G. Hull, York-New Salem; Adrian A., Spring Grove R.D.3; 45 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sr. M. Theodosia, Rye, N.Y.; and Mrs. Abbie Hubley, York. Funeral services will be held Thursday meeting at the Feiser funeral home, New Oxford at 10 a.m. followed by a concelebrated mass at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m."
