SIMONSVILLE - Quentin Pershing Trombley, 81, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 31, 1932, the son of Henry C. and Dorothy (Hamilton) Trombley in Simonsville, at the farmhouse where he lived his entire life until his passing.

He was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1953. He was an agriculture student and member of the Future Farmers of America.

Quentin was a lifelong dairy farmer, and, for a few years, had worked at Stratton Mountain.

He was a member of the Windsor Farm Bureau, NRA, International Harvester Collectors Club, New England Chapter, Association of New England Ox Teamsters Inc., the Simonsville Community Church, and had also served on the Andover Cemetery Commission.

He was an avid hunter, local historian, classic tractor collector, and a maple-sugaring expert.

He is survived by his sisters, Alice T. Perry of Bellows Falls, and Thelma T. Puechl of Rehoboth, MA; his brother-in-law, George Puechl of Rehoboth, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a dear family friend and "adopted brother," Greg Donabedian, as well as his faithful companion, Pete - his border collie - and his prize oxen, Scottie and Kurt.

He was predeceased by his father and mother; his brothers, Henry C. Trombley, Jr., and Gene David Trombley; his sister, Betsy Trombley Simonds; and brother-in-law, Harry Simonds; his sister-in-law, Alayne T. Trombley; brother-in-law, William R. Perry Sr.; and his nephew, William R. Perry, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Andover Community Church, with the pastor, Daryl Martens officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at the church.

Arrangements are under the care of the Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chester.
