Joseph R. Eckenrod Sr., 82, of Scottdale, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late William B. and Mildred (Miller) Eckenrod. Joe was employed as a machinist for several companies, and was a veteran of the Air Force during World War II. He also belonged to the Scottdale American Legion Post 240 and the Everson VFW Post 595. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice L. "Bea" (Hoyle) Eckenrod; the following children: Pamela Peters and husband, John; Joseph R. Eckenrod Jr. and wife, Karen; Ricky Eckenrod and wife, Suzanne; Zina Morsell and husband, Jerry; Madison Fletcher and Albert Carl Fletcher IV; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; the following brothers and sisters: William, James, Charles, Terry, Raymond, Retta and Matilda; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and interment will be held privately for the family. Arrangements are in the care of GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.
