A. W. Guenther Dies Of Heart Attack



August W. Guenther, truly a pioneer of Palmdale, died of a heart attack at his home, 240 Ave. R, on March 11.



Mr. Guenther had resided here for 35 years. For 34 years he had been in the employ of the county road department. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. August W. Guenther, nee Hannah Lecher; three daughters, Mrs. Owen Moulton and Mrs. George Suter of Palmdale; Mrs. Ted Jones of Lancaster, and five grandchildren.





Mr. Guenther was born in Germany, December 21, 1880. He came to this country with his family at an early age and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisc. Where he was educated. On October 2, 1906, he and the future Mrs. Guenther were married in Milwaukee.



One of Palmdale's best liked citizens, Mr. Guenther was active in the Masonic Order and the Elks. Funeral arrangements were made under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, with Elks Graveside services, with funeral services held Tuesday morning, March 15. Interment was at the Lancaster Cemetery.
