In May of 1984 Mamacat gave birth to 5 kittens. I had not done the socially responsible thing yet by having
Mamacat fixed. Daddy came a courting and the result was 5 adorable kittens. We found homes for 4 of them and kept one we called Mollie.
Mollie was a sweet tempered grey tabby cat and she
got along well with her Mamacat but at that time my Mother wanted a companion cat for Baby so we gave Mollie to my mother.
Mollie was an indoor/outdoor cat and she dearly loved sitting on the porch watching the world go by. She was 19 when my mother passed away so we
got Mollie back again.
In Feb. of 2004 Mollie was slowing down and I kept my eye on her and she was acting ok except for being slow to get around. I had tickets to an
event in Portland on the 4th of March so left Edmund in charge and left for the night.
When I got home the next day Edmund said Mollie was acting really strange so he took her to the
emergency vet where after many tests and poking and probing found she had a large internal lump that was untreatable. They told Edmund she was in
pain and it would be for the best to help her go. He was heartbroken and did not want to make the decision to put her to sleep. He said he went outside and had a cigarette and went back in and
Mollie was crying so he made the decision to let her go so he joined her in crying and they gave her the shot while he was holding her. Needless to say he had a horrible night (I think a couple of shots of bourbon helped).
Mollie is sitting on a shelf in a nice urn next to her Mamacat and Babycat and Lizzie. At one time we had all of them together. They are all gone now, I think they joined Mother and Edmund
when they crossed over but I am sure they visit
Rainbow Bridge a lot to wait for me.......
Rest well my little Mollie..
1. I want to thank Suse for sponsoring sweet Mollie and
for putting her on her page.
2. I want to thank Rosie for adding the adorable picture
and for putting her on her page. I have a picture
somewhere and we all know where somewhere is. I just
have to find it.
Again thanks to Suse and Rosie..........
