Obituary - Antelope Valley Press, Friday, April 2, 2004, page B2

PIVOVAROFF, Alex Sr. born Dec. 20, 1920, passed away March 27, 2004. Poorly educated but rich in common sense. Arrived in the Antelope Valley in the late 1940's. He worked in the alfalfa ranches, construction trade, and even washing dishes. He finally started his own septic tank service business in 1959, known as Alex Sanitation, which still operates today. Well known for his rugged work ethic even to the end. Having had a wife and five young ones to feed, he needed to work hard, and he did this well. Survived by his sons Alex Jr., Nick, Joseph, and daughter Diane and their families, which include wives, husbands, and loving grandchildren and also great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving wife Cecelia, and son David. He will be sadly missed by all. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday April 5, 2004, at Mumaw Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Mumaw Funeral Home.
