Buried at Orleans
Mrs. Allie Burton, 76, widow of James Burton, who died ten years ago, died Monday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Parish of Bedford.
Mrs. Burton was the last of six children born to Absalom and Dorothy (Rushton) Phillips in the Ekin community. She was married James Burton after fifty-eight years and they continued to live in the Eiken community for thirty years. They moved to Orange county about 28 years ago and it was there that Mr. Burton died after being injured while felling timber in 1928.
Survivors are the daughter at whose home she died and eight sons, W. O. Burton of Avery; Joseph and Cleo of Liepsic; Robert and Asher of Bedford, Otis and Harry of Orleans and John Burton of Crawfordsville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Liepsic with burial at Orleans beside the husband.
