Alice M. Wingert, 86, of Bonfield, died Wednesday (July 2, 1997) at Riverside Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Hertz- Thoma Chapel, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Steven Friese will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bonfield.
Memorials may be made to Bonfield Evengelical United Methodist Church, where she was a member, church pianist, Sunday School teacher and member of its Women's Missionary Society, WCTU and Sunshine Circle. She also was a church secretary.
She was a volunteer at Riverside Medical Center and member of its Twig.
A graduate of Gallagher Business School, she was a member of the Farm Bureau women's committee and active in the Salvation Army and Senior Citizens.
She was born Jan. 12, 1911 in rural Bonfield, the daughter of John and Carrie Orwig Kukuck.
Her husband, Clarence Wingert, whom she married Oct. 12, 1939 in Bonfield, is deceased.
Also deceased are two brothers and four sisters, Ernest Wingert, Reuben Wingert, Lillian Wingert, Edna and Lorene Stehr and Ellen Marth.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Donald Dipple of Davenport, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Florence Wingert of Colfax; three grandchildren, Christina, Elizabeth and Donald Dipple of Davenport, Iowa; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail.
She enjoyed vegetable gardening.
