Theresa G. Jakway, age 72 of Garrett, died on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her home. She was born October 3, 1941 in Fort Wayne to the late Ronald J. and Gerry (DeClerq) Bopp.

She married Jack Jakway on January 27, 1962 in Kendallville and he died August 27, 2004.

She was a homemaker and a Librarian at St. Joseph Catholic School in Garrett retiring in 2004. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by two sons, John Jakway of Garrett and Kent (Angela) Jakway of Fort Wayne; 2 daughters, Alicia (Ken) Noonan of Fishers, IN and Cheryl (Matt) Romeo of Oxford, CT and 3 grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Bopp and a sister, Judy Bell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. 7th St., Auburn, with Fr. Denis Carnerio officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23 from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary recital at 7:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett.
