Charles Freeland "C.F." was the son of James Wilson "Jim" Newton and Mary Alice Little. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII. He was a great guy in every way.

C.F. married Betty Zane Jenkins on November 22, 1946 in Grenada, Mississippi. They lived in Sumner, Mississippi, and had three children: Charles Freeland Jr., Deborah Ann and Delilah Zane.

C.F. married Barbara Ann Berry on June 28, 1974. They lived in Webb, Mississippi, and had one daughter: Farrah Olivia.

He was Chief of Police in Webb for many years.

Uncle C.F. was a great guy and one of my 'big brothers'. He watched after me and my younger sister at school and he watched after us when we grew up. He was the typical big brother and we loved him.
