Louis F. Freitas Jr., 60, husband of Mrs. Helen A. (Gesiak) Freitas of 11 Hillside Drive, died suddenly Friday evening at his residence. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Louis F. and Maria (DeSouza) Freitas. He was educated in the Dighton schools and had made his residence in Taunton practically all his life. Mr. Freitas was employed by the Campanella Corporation of Raynham up until his illness. He was a veteran of World War II, served with the Army, a member of Battery D, 952nd Antiaircraft Artillery (AW) Battalion as a Gun Corporal. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater in Philippines and Guadalcanal. He was the holder of the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 bronze stars (Luzon, Northern Solomons), the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
Mr. Freitas leaves his wife, Mrs. Helen A. Freitas of this city; one son, Robert Freitas of this city; one brother, Joseph Freitas of Foxboro; several nephews, nieces and cousins.
