"Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 25, at the Breit Funeral Home for Carrie Johnson, 79, with Rev. A. Frederick Stoecker of St Joseph officiating. Burial was in Savannah cemetery.

Carrie Jeantte Johnson was the youngest daughter of John and Mary Dorothea Watson and was born in St Joseph. She died May 21 in San Fernando, Calif. In 1898, she was married to John Gist Bowman who died in 1908. To this union were born three children, two dying in infancy and Mary D. Schmitt, who survives. Later she married A. S. Johnson. A son, Albert, survives, who lives in Iowa.

Mrs. Johnson came to Savannah when she was married and was a resident of the community for most of her life. She was employed at Dr. Nichols Sanatorium for 27 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the O.E.S. and Rebekah lodges.

In addition to her daughter and son, she is survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandsons." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), May 27, 1955
