"Harold H. Fairchild, 56, of 1948 Collins av. SE, assistant manager of the Crane Co. and employee of that firm since 1916, died unexpectedly at home Thursday evening from a heart ailment.

"Mr. Fairchild was born in Lowell. He came to Grand Rapids to work for the Crane Co., where he was employed in various departments until 1927 when he was made assistant manager.

"He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Elks and Lions clubs.

"Surviving are his wife, Alfreda; a daughter, Mrs. Ray House of Grand Rapids; his mother Mrs. Frank Fairchild of Alto; two brothers, William and Richard of Alto and two grandsons.

"Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens."
