****
Mrs. A.G. Brown, widow of the late Albert G. Brown, Governor of Mississippi and United States Senator from that State, died Thursday afternoon at Grass Lawn, the home of the Roberts, near Mississippi City. Mrs. Brown came from Charlottesville, Va., some three months since on a visit to friends and for the benefit of her health. She was a Miss Roberta Young of Alexandria, Va. Her brother, Robert Young, was a gallant officer of the United States Navy before the late war. The deceased was a highly cultivated woman, and possessed of the most varied accomplishments. She was a lovable woman, and all who came within the circle of her sweet influence became devotedly attached to her. During the occupancy of the Executive Mansion, both she and her husband dispensed a most liberal hospitality, and there is scarcely a home in the State of Mississippi where the announcement of the death of the gracious mistress of that household will not call up a flood of tender memories. The remains of the deceased will be interred by the side of those of her distinguished husband in Jackson. - Times Democrat.
