Born and raised in Jerry's Run, Alleghany County, Virginia, he was the husband of Pauline Lusk Sizemore.

He served in the CCC in Virginia during 1941. He was in the US Army, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade "Thunderbirds" during World War II.

ON MAY 10, 1940,
Wyatt F., age 17, lived in Boiling Spring, Alleghany Co, VA with his parents, Hardin H. & Ellie E., ages 58 & 59, who owned a farm on on Route 622, Kanawlis Turnpike. His brother, Everette, 19, worked for the forestry department.

He married Pauline (maiden name unknown) in Covington, Alleghany Co, VA on December 17, 1941. On March 17, 1943, he enlisted in the Army during WWII at Roanoke, VA with the rank of private. He was 44 inches tall & weighted 161 pounds.

"Wyatt Franklin Sizemore, Sr. went to sit at Jesus' feet on the morning of January 2, 2014. He was surrounded by his wife, Pauline and their five children at his beloved warm Florida home at Avon Park Holiness Campground.

Frank was born February 14, 1923 in Jerry's Run, Alleghany County, Virginia to Rev. Harden Henry Sizemore and Ollie Elizabeth Masters Sizemore. He grew up in Jerry's Run farming and working in sawmills where his father worked as a sawyer.

He enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps January March 1941 where he drove a truck at Douthat State Park. He and Pauline married December 17, 1941.

Frank served in the United States Army 180th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Bridgade "Thunderbirds" March 1943 September 1945 in the European campaign that included the Battle of Anzio. By God's grace and love, he returned home to Virginia to make his home and raise his family. Frank retired from Hercules Incorporated in 1985 after 24 years as a maintenance mechanic.

Frank loved the Lord and fulfilled God's purpose for him by witnessing and ministering to every life he touched. He studied his Bible and grew in spirit and truth. He served in his church communities with great love, dedication, and obedience. He served as Lay Leader at Hoke Chapel United Methodist Church where he also taught the Adult Sunday School Class for 40 years.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Harden and Ollie and by his siblings: Paul Thomas and wife, Edith, Charles Owen and wife, Thelma, Everett Emanuel and wife, Hazel, Violet Coleman and husband, Randolph Coleman, Nellie Campbell and husband, Wallace Campbell and husband, Ollie Nelson and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Pauline Lusk Sizemore and children: son, Wyatt Franklin Sizemore, Jr. and wife, Bertha, daughter Evelyn Brandner and husband Robert, son Dennis Sizemore and wife, Elizabeth, son Samuel Sizemore and wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Angela Simmons; 8 grandchildren; Troy Sizemore and wife, Andrea, Todd Sizemore and wife, Michele, April Mauney, Naomi Holt and husband, Perry, Kevan Sizemore and wife, Kimberly, Kristopher Sizemore, Amy Weeks and husband, Ches, and Andrea Hunt and husband, Micha; 25 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hoke Chapel Methodist Church, Weekday Religious Education for Alleghany County or to Avon Park Holiness Campground in Avon Park, FL.

The family will receive visitors at Loving Funeral Home in Covington at 12:30 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Sirk officiating, assisted by Rev. James Rodden. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
