He married second Bess Gladys Crawford, daughter of William Harrison Crawford and Susan Ann Gehris, about 1960 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. He died on 13 June 1970 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois, at age 85. He was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Caroline Lenore Burkmeyer was born on 19 June 1887 in Delphos, Van Wert County, Ohio. She died on 24 September 1959 in Rossville, Vermilion County, Illinois, at age 72. She was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.

He married Margaret Lillian Stromberg, daughter of Andrew Stromberg and Bertha Carlson, on 17 August 1940 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He died on 11 December 1987 in Homewood, Cook County, Illinois, at age 73. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Blue Island.
iv. George Robert Tilton was born on 3 June 1923 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois.
