Rex E. Hines, 65, of 5310 12th Ave., Moline, formerly of Milan, died at 4:18 a.m. yesterday at Moline Public Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Larson Funeral Home, Milan. The Rev. Martha Smith of the First Spiritual 1st Church, Clinton, will officiate and burial will be in Western Cemetery, Orion. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
Mr. Hines was born Aug. 23, 1915 in Marion, Ind., the son of Everette O. and Myrtle Teter Hines. He moved from Marion at the age of 10 years and had lived in Milan from 1925 to 1973 except for 12 years in Sherrard. He had lived in Moline since 1973. He attended schools in Milan and Moline and in Marion, Ind.
He married Alice W. Kuykendall Dec. 21, 1940 in Davenport.
Mr. Hines was a machine operator with Farmall Works, Rock Isalnd from 1947 until retiring in 1973. He also had farmed for 25 years in the Milan-Sherrard area.
He was of Spiritualist faith. He was an avid bowler for many years and recently had bowled in a Senior Citizen's League.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Troy A. rural Milan; a grandson and two brothers, Otto, Galve and Phil, Taylor Ridge. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
