He was born in Thunderbolt, Georgia, on April 8, 1926, in the home he passed away in. Bob served in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning to Savannah, he worked for Savannah Electric and Power Company for over thirty years and retired in 1988. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Ross is survived by: his son, Robert A. Ross, Jr. and wife Shirley of Isle of Palm, SC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly L. and Alfie Waite of Tybee Island, and Sue R. and Keith Wilson of Savannah; six grandchildren, Kellie Thompson, Dena Wiggins, Ross Thompson, Hailey Ross, Robert A. Ross III and Alfred Waite, Jr.; one great grandson, Walker Jenkins and several nieces, nephews and Kitty, his loving cat.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation Inc., 3614 J. Dewey Gray Circle, Building C, Augusta, Georgia 30909.
