  Miss Gertrude Josephine McLean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mclean passed away at the home of her parents, 317 West Linden street, on Wednesday evening. Miss McLean underwent a major operation on March 27 at the St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Granite City.
  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the McLean residence with services at the St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 o'clock. Rev. Charles A. Meagher will be in charge, with interment in the Calvary Cemetery.
  Miss McLean was born Jan. 8, 1902 in Edwardsville and spent her entire life here. She was educated in Edwardsville schools and later employed at the local office of the Litchfield and Madison Railroad. Miss McLean was an active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and was affiliated with the Daughters of Isabella.
  Besides her parents she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Flavin, St. Louis, Mrs. Joseph Agles, Miss Mary McLean of Edwardsville, and two brothers, Donald W. McLean and Robert C. McLean of Edwardsville.

Pallbearers were Ray Campbell, Clem Rotter, Glenn Kinzer of this city, Willard Eardley, New Douglas, Thomas Murphy and Walter Foster of St. Louis.
