The mother of Anna was Sarah C. Bennett. Daughter of: Thomas Bennett, 1754-1814 & Anna Hayes Warnock, 1752-1830.

She was a sister of governor of South Carolina, Thomas Bennett....

She was mother of eight children, of which only two survived childhood. Also adopted two refugee children from Santo Domingo....
