Shelbyville News, Wednesday, April 23, 1980. Mrs. E. Pumphrey, 9, R.R. 2, Shelbyville, died at 6:15 a.m. today at W.S. Major Hospital. She had been in failing health two years. Mrs. Pumphrey spent most of her life in Shelby County and her early life in Decatur County. She belonged to the First Christian Church. Born Aug. 18, 1890 in Decatur County, a daughter of Charles W. and Emma(Davis)
Worland, she was married Sept. 15, 1910to Clarence W. Pumphrey, who died Feb. 5, 1973. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward(Helen)Hilgemeir, Shelbyville; a brother, Raymond Worland, R.R., Greensburg; and two grandsons and six great-grandchildren. A daugher, two sisters and two brothers preceded in death. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ewing Mortuary with the Rev. James H. Horner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
